Briarpatch Fundraiser
to
Rosie's Coffee Bar and Bakery 4604 Monona Dr., Madison, Wisconsin 53704
Come in to Rosie’s café on Monona Drive Wednesday January 20th from 6:30a – 12 noon and make a donation in exchange for a warm JBC coffee roasters coffee or a hot chocolate! It’s that easy. You make a donation, you get a drink in exchange, and all donations go to Briarpatch.
Since 1971, Briarpatch Youth Services has been the primary resource for at-risk youth and their families in Dane County. And now, they are taking a big step forward to help these youth even more, by opening the first-ever facility in Dane County dedicated to providing temporary shelter to homeless youth ages 13-17.
Cedric Johnson, Development & Communications Director for Briarpatch youth services explains, “1,181 Dane County high school students reported being kicked out of home by their parents within the last 12 months. Briarpatch offers a range of services (at no cost to families) that make sure these youth get back into a safe living situation, back into school, and onto a safe and healthy path.”
$125 provides one teen safe overnight shelter
$40 provides one hour of individual or family counseling
$10 provides two meals for a homeless teen
The whole community is invited to participate. Come warm up to the Coldest Day of the Year on Wednesday January 20th at Rosie’s Café in Monona. Enjoy a warm drink and know that whatever amount you can give is appreciated and will help provide warm and safe shelter for homeless teens!
