press release: Three artists are teaming up for the new photography exhibit at the Fluno Center. Carolyn Carlson, KJ Forest, and Katie Frye have chosen digital images that reflect their shared interest in photographing "Natural and Designed Spaces and Places."
There will be a reception with the photographers this week at the Fluno Center exhibit on Wednesday, July 13, from 3:30 to 7:30 pm. Carolyn, Katie, and KJ will be available to discuss their work and answer questions.
Carolyn Carlson has included photographs that capture symmetry and pattern in architectural details that intrigue her. Carolyn is an avid gardener who brings her camera along into the garden, and expresses the joy and beauty she finds there in her photos.
KJ Forest's photos include lake and river scenes, close-up images resembling abstracts, and photo mosaics that form a single photographic image. She seeks out ephemeral light conditions such as at dawn, after a storm, or reflected from a sunlit prism to lend a painterly look to her work.
Katie Frye carries her camera along on long hikes and enjoys looking for little things to capture that might otherwise escape notice. She enjoys using natural light to accent her photos. Katie's photos in this exhibit include natural landscapes, animals, portraits, and urban images, chosen to showcase the four seasons.
The "Natural & Designed Spaces & Places" Fluno exhibit runs through the end of August.
