The Cactus Blossoms, Charlie Parr, Armchair Boogie, and 10 more artists, in the great outdoors, for free? Sign us up. Along with three days of free music, the Catfish River Music Festival features the announcement of the 2023-2024 season at Stoughton Opera House, and the weekend is also a fundraiser by the Stoughton Opera House Friends Association (beverage sales help maintain and operating the historic venue, as do donations from enthused music fans — hint hint). Find the full schedule below and updates at catfishrivermusicfest.com.
media release: There will be balloons aplenty at the Stoughton Opera House Catfish River Music Fest in Rotary Park, downtown Stoughton, June 30-July 2. This year the Stoughton Opera House Friends Association (SOHFA) will host its annual fundraising celebration just before Independence Day, allowing attendees an extra-long holiday weekend in which to boogie in the streets, ice cream in hand.
The summer event serves as SOHFA’s signature fundraiser, but asks nothing more of music lovers than a donation in the bucket at the gate. This family-friendly fest has fast become a Southern Wisconsin fav with craft & food vendors, cold beer, banjos, horns, electric guitars, kid’s events, and enough sidewalk chalk to cover a city block.
Opera House fans are looking forward to the 2023-24 Arts & Culture Guide which will deliver the upcoming season’s concert line-up and make its debut at the Festival Main Tent. More information can be found online at www.catfishrivermusicfest.com. Direct questions to boxoffice@stoughtonoperahouse.
