Cheat Codes
media release: Continuing a decade-long run as one of the most dynamic forces in popular music, multiplatinum Los Angeles-based hit-making producer trio Cheat Codes release their new album, Future Renaissance in July via Cheat Codes/Create Music Group, Inc. Listen HERE.
The trio—Kevin Ford, Trevor Dahl, and Matthew Russell—mark 10 years of innovation and evolution with this expansive 15-track collection, with nostalgic hooks, modern energy, and an all-star guest list. Among the standout collaborations is the new single “Go To Hell” featuring five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning soul powerhouse CeeLo Green – listen HERE.
Driven by a blissful piano melody and the trio’s signature beatcraft, the song floats CeeLo’s unmistakable high register over a hypnotic production. Its chantable chorus—“I wish you well, but you can go to Hell, ‘cause darling Heaven isn’t good enough for you”— delivers a clever lyrical twist with equal parts bite and brilliance. The result is a euphoric fusion of retro-soul swagger and glossy dance-pop finesse, destined to soundtrack late-night dance floors and summer singalongs alike.
Elsewhere on the album, New Jersey-based vocal dynamo Frawley shows out on “Towers,” delivering an impressive cameo. The song hinges on an unpredictable soundscape punctuated by dramatic drops as her voice rises, “We could be higher than towers.” Then, there’s “Rich Kids” which exudes bright pop energy through its bubbly refrain, “Don’t have a lot, but we live like rich kids.” Cheat Codes showcases another side of their artistry altogether on “Believing In Us” featuring Oaks. The emotionally charged soundscape matches the feeling in the core hook, “Are we gonna stop believing in us?” Integrating a myriad of sonic vibes and emotions, Future Renaissance is Cheat Codes at the top of their game of their creative powers thus far.
In June, the trio set the stage for Future Renaissance with “Human”
True to its name, Future Renaissance is a bold statement of reinvention, collaboration, and artistic growth. The album features a vibrant lineup of collaborators including Izzy Bizu, Kenny G, Train, Jasmine Thompson, salem ilese, Enisa, Linney, Edward Maya, M-22, and Julia Church. The result is a kaleidoscopic collection of genre-blending tracks that sees the trio returning to their dance-pop roots while evolving their sound with thoughtful songwriting and inventive production. Tracks like “Rich Kids,” “Don’t Leave,” and “Modern Tragedy” explore themes of love, loss, and self-discovery through infectious, genre-fluid arrangements. The album’s celebration of sonic diversity and emotional depth affirms Cheat Codes’ place at the forefront of global pop.
Currently on tour in support of Future Renaissance, Cheat Codes will join global pop icon Katy Perry for two major arena shows: August 1 at Centre Videotron in Quebec City and August 3 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
