Christmas in Watertown

Local historian and author Bill Jannke will present a talk on Christmas in Watertown on December 15. The program will take place at Park Hill (formerly Mueller) Apartments, 1121 Highland Ave., Watertown at 7:00 PM in the second floor dining room. This talk will be offered free of charge to any resident of Marquardt Village, but for anyone else wishing to attend the evening’s program there will be a $5.00 per person charge.
Mr. Jannke, former president of the Watertown Historical Society and author of several books on the city’s history, will present a slide show of vintage pictures illustrating various aspects of the Christmas holiday and how Watertown citizens celebrated. Among the subjects to be covered will be holiday decorations, Christmas trees, and holiday shopping. The talk will run approximately one hour. In addition to the talk there will be a special added surprise attraction.
