Bernie’s Beach Clean-up Day
Thursday, May 7, 2015
3 – 7 p.m.
Bernie’s Beach
901 Gilson Street, Madison WI 53713
Clean Lakes Alliance is partnering with Madison Parks, Friends of Monona Bay, and the Bay Creek Neighborhood Association to clean up wind-blown debris at Bernie’s Beach.
Parks staff will be working with neighborhood and community groups to clean up the trash and plant debris that has accumulated in front and around Bernie’s Beach on the southeastern corner of Monona Bay. The combination of low water levels and a consistent wind pattern has led to an accumulation of debris, making this a great opportunity for the community to come together to clean up the Bernie’s Beach area in preparation for another great lake season.
Food and beverages will be provided by the Clean Lakes Alliance.
What to expect: Expect to get messy. Volunteers will be on the shore and in up to knee-deep water, depending on comfort levels. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty. We will provide gloves but feel free to bring your own work gloves.
To RSVP, email our Watershed Coordinator, Katie Van Gheem, at katie@cleanlakesalliance.com.
