Colón Y Más
Tribute to Willie Colón by an all-star lineup of local musicians. $18 ($15 adv.).
media release: Colón Y Más presents the music of Willie Colón, the godfather of modern salsa, and other popular Salsa Artists that collaborated or were influenced by the salsa explosion in the '60s and '70s.
The group, made up of some of Madison’s finest salsa and jazz musicians, presents a high energy show that takes you through the timeline of salsa hitting other notable artists such as: Celia Cruz, Hector LaVoe, Johnny Pacheco, Ruben Blades, Marc Anthony, Eddie Santiago and many more!
Playing their debut show to a sold out room at Cafe Coda, the dance floor was full the entire time and the energy was that of the streets of Viejo San Juan in Puerto Rico.
For this show, the group will feature, once again, some of Willie’s most notable tunes, such as Pedro Nevaja, Buscando Guayaba, Idilio, Que Lío, and others. They will also present music from another amazing musician from Puerto Rico, Marc Anthony (portrayed Hector LaVoe in “El Cantante).
It will be an evening to remember and one not to miss, as their shows sell out well in advance!
Get ready to dance and hear some of the most iconic music ever recorded.
