More than 100 comedians gather in Madison for a week of stand-up, improv, roast battles and more — if you’re looking for a laugh, Madison Comedy Week is ready for you. Headlining is British-Jamaican comic Ian Edwards, performing a free show Aug. 13 at the Pursuit of Happiness Sessions at McPike Park. But that show is just one entry point; more than 30 events are set for a variety of venues, with a dozen shows at The Bur Oak (including a visit by New York City-based Would You Rather on Aug. 10) and a trio of events at Comedy on State (hosting a comedy special taping by Jake Snell on Aug. 10). Find the complete schedule and ticket info at madisoncomedyweek.net.
press release: The Comedy BOOM (Bur Oak Open Mic) is a weekly staple of the Madison comedy scene, as locals gather each Monday to work on material, show their stuff, and congregate in the name of all that is funny. This Madison Comedy Week edition of this weekly show will first feature a series of longer showcase spots from some of our out of town festival performers, as well as an open mic with our many very talented festival acts as well. For free, you can’t beat it at all.
Hosted by Will Byrd. Doors and Sign Up at 8:30; show at 9:00.
Madison Comedy Week is sponsored by The Sessions at McPike Park, Comedy on State, Knuckleheads, Graduate Hotels, Camp Trippalindee, Gallant Knight Limousine, Herbal Aspect, Madison Indie Comedy, Ian's Pizza, Brittingham Boats, and Audio For The Arts!
