media release: With the beginning of a new school year, our monthly Badger Rock CommUNITY Dinners are also beginning again!
This Friday, September 12th, is our first dinner welcoming students and their families back to school and the community back to Badger Rock. CommUNITY Dinners are free and open to all: neighbors, school families, and the Rooted community. This month we're hosting a Family Science Night, with fun presentations and hands-on experiments on a variety of science topics for kids of all ages. We're partnering with volunteers from UW-Madison, Madison Gas and Electric, and our own talented staff to bring you activities including the bike blender, learning about reptiles & amphibians, exploring pollinators, testing pH with cabbages, and more!
Dinner is prepared by our very own Chef Kipp Thomas with the assistance of our Rooted in Urban Agriculture Youth Employees, who will also be selling produce from the Badger Rock Farm Stand. Our youth have been working hard all summer to grow and harvest amazing fresh produce, and now it's time to share and enjoy the fruits of our labor! We hope to see you there to celebrate the start of another year of learning and growing at Badger Rock.
