media release: con vivo!...music with life, Madison’s professional chamber music ensemble, completes its 22nd season with music by Schumann, Schubert and Shostakovich. The concert, entitled “Spring Hope,” is on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1609 University Ave. across from Camp Randall. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $25.00 for adults and $20.00 for seniors and students. The concert features arrangements of piano and vocal pieces for clarinet and piano by Robert Schumann and Franz Schubert. The program closes with Dimitri Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet. Audience members are invited to join con vivo! musicians after the concert for a free reception to meet the musicians and to discuss this chamber music literature.
Artistic Director Robert Taylor, in remarking about the concert said, “We are excited to perform the Piano Quintet of Dimitri Shostakovich. This piece truly reveals the genius of Shostakovich. In addition, there will be clarinet and piano arrangements of Schumann piano music and Schubert songs. So come join us for the spring concert of our 22nd season.”
con vivo! is a professional chamber music ensemble comprised of Madison area musicians assembled from the ranks of the Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and various other performing groups familiar to Madison audiences.
