press release: Creek Day School, a south-Madison non-profit child care center, celebrates 40 years of caring for young children with a grand party including food, cake, a firetruck, a proclamation from Mayor Soglin’s office, and free children’s entertainment from 4pm to 7 pm, Saturday, July 25, 2015. A raffle with prizes from local businesses will raise money for playground improvements and school activities. The party will be at the school, 2509 McDivitt Road, Madison.
The party will provide plenty of fun for young children. A fire truck will visit at the beginning of the party, a bounce house will be open throughout, and David Landau will play for the kids at 5:00 pm. Food and beverages will be available for a small donation. Raffle tickets will be sold for $2, and prizes include birthday party packages, open gym tickets, and gift certificates to local businesses.
Creek Day School has been teaching and caring for kids ages 2-5 on Madison's south side since 1975 when it was established. By 1980 the school had incorporated into a non-profit and moved to its present location at 2509 McDivitt Road, where it leases space from the Arbor Covenant Church.
Creek Day School provides full-day, year-round childcare to a diverse group of 35 children. The four teachers and director have a combined tenure of more than 100 years teaching at Creek Day School. The children benefit from this experience with playful lessons in art, music, letters, numbers, science, and literacy. The teachers set up rich environments both in the classroom and outside on a spacious play area that stimulate young minds to learn through play. The program is non-religious and open and accepting of all children and families.
