Curt has performed at the gallery several times and is always delightful, funny, and though he may not admit it, inspirational.
Dr. Curt Meine is a conservation biologist, historian, and writer. He serves as a Senior Fellow with the Aldo Leopold Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin and with the Chicago-based Center for Humans and Nature. He is a Research Associate with the International Crane Foundation, also located in Baraboo, and Associate Adjunct Professor in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology.
Meine received his B.A. in English and History from DePaul University in Chicago and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Land Resources from the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His work has involved projects across Europe, Asia, and North America, with a wide array of conservation organizations, agencies, universities, and businesses. At home in Sauk County, Wisconsin he devotes his time to local land conservation, ecological restoration, and sustainable agriculture projects, and is a founding member of the Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance.
Don Greenwood, from Spring Green, has been writing songs for 50 years. He writes originals in the rural blues and folk traditions. He cites Bob Dylan, Mississippi John Hurt, Joni Mitchell, John Prine, Hank Williams and Laura Nyro as influences. A product of the Great Folk Scare of the 1960s and the early 1970s Chicago folk scene, he used to play set breaks for John Prine on Sunday evenings at the Fifth Peg when John was still working as a mail carrier
