press release: DELTA RAE advocates for social responsibility through strong harmonies, a primal live show and country-infused storytelling highlighted in their catalogue of songs. The troupe features Holljes’ siblings Brittany (vocals), Eric (vocals, piano, guitar) and Ian (vocals, guitar) alongside Liz Hopkins (vocals, tambourine), Mike McKee (drums) and Grant Emerson (bass, guitar, cello).
Creators through and through, Delta Rae literally builds out their vibe with hand-shaped visuals including their interactive set and soul-bearing sentiments. Crafting their moniker from a mythical story their mother wrote, the siblings’ upbringing has been at the core of Delta Rae’s sound as artists, songwriters and social activists. A regular on the festival circuit since forming in North Carolina circa 2009, the band’s larger-than-life performances have earned coveted spots most recently at Country 2 Country (London, Scotland) in addition to Bonnaroo, Tortuga Music Festival, Austin City Limits, Hangout Fest, VOODOO and Lollapalooza. They have received national attention with features inNPR, Washington Post and New York Times in addition to multiple late night performances and inclusion in Forbes' 30 Under 30 list. Currently they are hosting a 16-week Delta Rae Revival at The Basement in Nashville, featuring the perfect mix of light and dark sounds and an immersive audience experience. The group empowers others through their truthful lyrics as can be seen in back-to-back releases THE BLACKBIRD SESSIONS EP and A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE EP on The Valory Music Co. Delta Rae has continued to create inside and outside the studio, releasing a new song “Do You Ever Dream?” and music video partially filmed in Rekjavik, Iceland. Delta Rae continues to preview fresh songs at each tour date.
