press release: The 2015-2017 State Budget, Act 55, directs the Department of Health Services (DHS) to make a number of changes to the Family Care and IRIS Programs. The Department held public hearings throughout the state in September and October 2015 in order to receive testimony from interested parties.
Note: The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) considers IHAs to be doing the business of insurance and therefore, State insurance law requires all IHAs to be licensed insurers.
A draft of the concept plan will be published on the Family Care/IRIS 2.0 webpage the first week of March. The Department will hold public hearings to solicit comment regarding the concept plan that will be submitted to the Joint Committee on Finance on April 1, 2016. The hearings will be live streamed so all may participate and submit testimony in person and online. Free parking will be available at both events.
