Discover Playwriting
Arts + Literature Laboratory 111 S. Livingston St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
We're all in love with our narrators until we realize how freeing it is to get rid of them. Characters, action, dialog, behavior. No filters. No telling. Bob Curry will cover a few simple rules for writing drama and then we’ll roll up our sleeves and try it. Bring your situations, your scenes, your characters, your conflicts, or just yourself. Fiction writers and poets are welcome: you’ll see your work in a whole new way.
Bob Curry is a writer of plays, film scripts and fiction. His screenplay The Last Great Ride was filmed in Wisconsin starring Ernest Borgnine and Eileen Brennan and a stage play East Side Story was produced at the Barrymore with students from the East High School Drama Club. He teaches writing and film at Madison College and the UW Division of Continuing Studies and Children's Theater of Madison. He's is a founding member of Playwrights Ink, a local play and playwright development group that has produced numerous shows over the last twenty years.
