Faithful Citizenship Spring Forum
press release: Over the last 18 months WISDOM, the Wisconsin Council of Churches, Citizen Action, and the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families have hosted 18 regional forums on poverty throughout the state. At those events, we received lots of input from forum participants on both the substance and the message of a potential major campaign led by the faith community to reduce poverty in our state over the next decade.
We’re now inviting you to move from talk to action! All of those who participated in the forums—along with other interested people in the faith community—will soon gather to take the next step. At this next round of forums, we will finalize a theological statement we can use in our ministries, and we hope we can arrive at a consensus about moving toward a concrete goal, and a plan to demand a reduction in child poverty in Wisconsin which will also reduce our racial disparities. Please join us!
The “Faithful Citizenship Spring Forums” will be held in five places throughout Wisconsin in the next few weeks. All the events are from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, and all are free of charge. They will be:
