press release: Celebrate the bounty of vegetables, flowers, and food brought to us from our gardens and animals all year at our Fall Harvest Festival!
Kids will create art, dance, meet new animal friends, and do a variety of activities throughout the museum all day related to the fall harvest and harvest traditions. In the process they gain social skills, hand-eye coordination, use their imaginations and creative thinking as they explore the harvest festival programs.
- Farm Animal Meet & Greet at the Log Cabin, 10–11 a.m. — Meet Olive, the miniature donkey, and her goat pals
- Gourd Decorating on the Rooftop, 11 a.m.–12 p.m. — Paint and decorate locally grown gourds
- Harvest Cabin Cooking at the Log Cabin, 12–2 p.m. — Details coming soon
- Harvest Square Dance on the Rooftop, 1–3 p.m. — Come on up for a hoedown with kid-friendly dance moves taught. (Rain location will be in the Celebrations Room)
- Wheat Straw Weaving in the Art Studio, 1–3 p.m. — Make a heart-shaped harvest favor from braided wheat. This traditional European craft can be used to create home decorations or ornaments.

As with all of our Theme Days, our Fall Harvest Festival is FREE for members and FREE with museum admission. No pre-registration is needed, activities will be open to all while supplies last.
