Food and the Wisconsin Idea
press release: Please join us for our second event of Food & the Wisconsin Idea's 2018 series!
How are nutrition, health, and food systems related? Our guest Heidi Busse and her colleagues from Centro Hispano, Community Groundworks, and the ICP Sweet Potato Project in Ethiopia will present on agricultural and health challenges in Ethiopia, and how multi-sectoral strategies there are making communities more resilient. Bringing it back to Wisconsin, they will discuss the varied understandings of nutrition today, what "healthy" looks like to different communities, and what multi-sectoral partnerships mean for capacity building to work on nutrition at different levels. This month’s event will be held at The University Club on Library Mall on Thursday, February 22nd from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. As usual, the program will last one hour with a social period to follow. Please see our flier for more information!
We’re changing things up a bit this season by opening our event series up to the rest of the state! Attendees have the option of joining us in person, or via Zoom video conference. If you would like to join in person at the University Club, please RSVP here. If you will be joining remotely, please register here, where you will receive a link to install Zoom (a very safe software to download).
Make sure to check out our (very simple) website and like our Facebook page for updates on next month’s event!
