Forward Theater Company Play Club
Verona Library 500 Silent St., Verona, Wisconsin 53593
press release: Forward Theater Company Play Club will host readings and a discussion of the play 4000 Miles at the Verona Public Library on Wednesday, October 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. 4000 Miles by playwright Amy Herzog examines the love of family and the healing power of trust. As the story unfolds, 21-year-old Leo, after suffering a major loss while on a cross-country bike trip, seeks solace from his feisty 91-year-old grandmother Vera. With humor and heartbreak, 4000 Miles takes an intimate look at the road to self-acceptance we all must travel — and the unexpected connections we make along the way. The play was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
This discussion is limited to 15 participants and registration is required. Please register in person at the library service desk. Participants can check out a copy of the script and study guide when they register. Participants should read the script and study guide of 4000 Miles in advance to prepare for the discussion led by a Forward Theater Company artist. Scenes will be read aloud by Forward Theater Company actors.
Forward Theater Play Clubs in the Library are a part of the From Page to Stage program, which is made possible thanks to Beyond the Page, Madison Community Foundation, Dane Arts Commission, the Wisconsin Humanities Council, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
