Perhaps your household could use a helping hand this Thanksgiving, or you’re just seeking some community; several locations have free meals planned on the holiday. Delta Beer Lab’s fifth annual community Thanksgiving is taking place from 3-5 p.m. (the taproom will be open 1-7 p.m.). The meal, a cafeteria-style turkey dinner, is free but donations are encouraged for Agrace; tickets at delta.beer. The free Sina Davis Community Meal is from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County’s Allied Family Center; pre-registration is encouraged. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Road, hosts its traditional free Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; no RSVP necessary. Lakeview Lutheran Church hosts a free meal at noon; RSVP by calling 608-244-6181. And Neighborhood Food Solutions is hosting a free community meal at Madison Labor Temple, from noon-3 p.m.
media release: Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County is pleased to announce the annual Sina Davis Community Thanksgiving Dinner as a part of the Thanksgiving portion of their Holiday Extravaganza! The Dinner is a cherished community event that brings people together for a day of gratitude, warmth, and community. This year's event will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Allied Family Center located at 4619 Jenewein Road, in Fitchburg.
The Dinner is free and open to everyone, emphasizing the spirit of giving back to the community. Attendees will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast featuring turkey, dressing, and all the fixins, including tasty desserts. The event promises fun for the whole family, with entertainment and activities, including the Club’s climbing wall, crafts, and more. There will also be a live DJ and giveaways, including a TV, gift cards, electronic devices, and MORE!
This year’s event is extra special as members of the UW Madison Football team will be in attendance! The football team’s presence adds a special touch to the event, bringing together community members and local sports stars to share in the joy of the holiday season.
The community meal is sit-down or to-go and you can register at bgcdc.org/holidayextravaganza. Registration is not required but appreciated and walk-ups are welcome.

In addition to the community meal, Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County gave out over 200 take home Thanksgiving meal kits last Thursday at their McKenzie Family Center in Sun Prairie and The Erica & Anthony Fleming Boys & Girls Club on Taft Street in South Central Madison.
“Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County will be having many more holiday events going on through December, including distribution of meals, gifts, shopping sprees, and more,” he adds. “We just really want to continue to be there to help the community however we can over the holidays.”
