Friends of Shabazz Launch Party

media release: Launch party for Friends of Shabazz: Sunday, November 8, 2026 · 11:30 AM – 3 PM, High Noon Saloon · 701 E Washington Ave, Madison. Low Czars sets at noon and 2 PM, with a Friends of Shabazz presentation at 1 PM.

Friends of Shabazz exists to support and enhance the educational experience at Malcolm Shabazz City High School. Through fundraising, community involvement, and volunteer support, we work to promote an inclusive and equitable learning environment that benefits students, staff, and the broader Shabazz community.

At the heart of Shabazz is a project-based and experiential learning model that takes education beyond the traditional classroom. Students engage in authentic, real-world challenges — building, restoring, creating, and contributing to their community. From hands-on trades skills to stream ecology fieldwork, Shabazz students learn by doing.

Friends of Shabazz connects the school with community partners who make these experiences possible — providing funding, facilities, instruction, and mentorship that no school budget alone can sustain.
