media release: The public is invited to a benefit sale of gifts and sweets to be held in Madison on November 29, the International day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and also Small Business Saturday.
Proceeds from the sale will be donated to Middle East Children's Alliance for Gaza emergency relief, and to families facing demolitions and settler violence in the Masafer Yatta area of the West Bank.
Shop for Palestinian-made items including hand-made jewelry and beautifully embroidered shawls, kufiyahs, and bags made by Women in Hebron Craft Cooperative; kufiyahs from Nablus; and extra-virgin olive oil and olive oil soap. Children's books about Palestine and solidarity yard signs will also be available.
A variety of baked goods and sweets made by Madison bakers will also be offered, along with locally produced crafts and art including unique crocheted warm hats and scarves from the talented artists at Madison's Warda Bayda.
The event will also offer a chance to sponsor olive trees in the Madison-Masafer Yatta Olive Grove. These sponsored trees will help Palestinian families in Masafer Yatta replace those destroyed this year by Israel.
Presented by Palestine Partners, Madison-Rafah Sister City Project, Teta’s Treasures & Room of One’s Own Bookstore. Facebook event here.
