Trio tribute. $15 ($12 adv.).
media release: Madison’s own folk/Americana trio Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets will be paying tribute to the iconic trio of Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris as the High Noon Saloon presents an encore presentation o LEGENDS IN HARMONY: A TRIBUTE TO DOLLY, LINDA, AND EMMYLOU. Tickets for the 18 and over show are $12 in advance, $15 day of show.
Songs and stories of beloved hits such as “9-to-5,” “Born to Run,” and “When Will I Be Loved” will be shared, along with some of GCBR’s own award-winning material. “We will be doing our own twists on the trio’s biggest hits,” said singer/guitarist Beth Kille. “And while we try to stay true to the original versions, we also will be adding our unique Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets flavor; as well as a video backdrop to add an extra layer to the experience.”
The idea for the show came about when Beth saw Chris Collins’ John Denver tribute in 2019, and learned how, for him, tribute work opened up opportunities to reach a wider audience. So Beth brought it up to band mates Jen Farley and Shawndell Marks.
“We landed on this idea of paying tribute to the Trio,” explained Beth. “It seemed like a natural fit since we already had songs by Dolly and Linda in our repertoire. Also, they are three strong independent women with different musical backgrounds, so that resonated with us as well.”
