Greater Madison Engaged: Visioning More Inclusive and Empowered Engagement

The City of Dubuque is coming to share their experiences on community engagement with Madison on May 10th. Join Nikola Pavelic, Dubuque's Community Engagement Coordinator; Kelly Larson, Dubuque's Human Rights Director; and Cori Burbach, Dubuque's Sustainable Community Coordinator. We invite community members, elected officials, institutional staff, and community groups to:
Share local public participation practices that have worked well in specific contexts.
Consider alternative approaches to community engagement to increase the inclusiveness and effectiveness of local governance and deep democracy
Shape an on-going community of practice to formulate action steps aimed at improving local public participation and deep democracy
Each session is stand-alone, and folks are welcome to attend any number they can.
10-11:30AM @ at UW South Madison Partnership Space in Villager Mall - led by grassroots community leaders: Eric Upchurch, Karime Perez, Lexi London, and Will Green
12-1PM @ City County Building 351 - led by City of Dubuque Community Engagement Coordinator
2-3:30PM @ City County Building 351 - Exploring of Racial Equity Social Justice lens in community engagement. Resource people include Jordan Bingham and Kelly Larson.
4-7PM @ 3rd floor of Madison Central Library - Visioning More Inclusive and Empowered Engagement
