media release: Greg Freeman is playing a headlining show in Madison at High Noon Saloon on October 25!
Freeman will release his third solo album, All Set The Bone, on October 2nd, and singles “Indu” and “Cahokia” have already been covered by the likes of The New York Times, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Paste Magazine, Consequence, The Needle Drop, and more. Freeman calls All Set The Bone a “reflection of a lot of change, and a lot of tension.” It’s a box of political and personal yarns spread across four sides, “inhuman events” and grief pulled into a “perfect tsunami.” While writing and recording it, Freeman moved out of his longtime home in Burlington, holed up in a middle-of-nowhere part of the Southwest, and stepped into music full-time, leaving behind odd jobs as a cemetery landscaper and restaurant line cook.
"Poetic, off-kilter, devastatingly observant... A thrilling step up, harnessing Freeman’s righteous anger into songs that better capture the raucous energy of his live show." -The New York Times
"Greg Freeman’s already becoming an alt-country mainstay. Last year’s 'Burnover' was a real treat, and now another lyrical, fuzzy masterpiece is on the way" - Stereogum
"the prolific Greg Freeman has a knack for mining inspiration from the everyday" - Paste Magazine
"['All Set The Bone'] picks up where 2025’s 'Burnover' (one of our favorite albums of the year) left off, bringing more crunchy indie rock with arrangements that are even bigger and heavier-hitting" - Brooklyn Vegan
