media release: Wilmington, North Carolina-based John Wood Band is excited to release their new single, "Into the Light," available now on all streaming platforms.
Blending soaring instrumentation with heartfelt storytelling, "Into the Light" showcases the band's signature blend of rock, Americana, and jam-inspired influences while highlighting the chemistry that has made their live performances a fan favorite.
The band shares:
"Into the Light is musically our proudest work yet. The ever-growing nature of the song pairs with the lyrical story, creating an atmosphere we're incredibly proud of. We can't wait for everyone to hear this one."
To celebrate the release, John Wood Band will continue their extensive touring schedule throughout 2026, bringing their energetic live show to audiences across the country.
Founded in Wilmington, North Carolina, John Wood Band is a dynamic six-piece led by singer-songwriter John Wood. The project came together in 2025 after Wood's solo acoustic performance opening for Winyah and Harvey Street inspired him to expand his vision into a full-band experience.
The lineup features Brody Folkers (lead guitar), TJ Roy (saxophone), Grant Harward (keys), Jay Eades (bass), and Caleb Dulin (drums). Shortly after forming, the band quickly established themselves on the regional music scene, opening for artists including Innlet and Congress The Band.
Since their formation, the group has maintained a relentless touring schedule while continuing to write and record new music. Their debut release as a six-piece, the Chronology EP, is available now and features fan favorites including "Dry Eyes" and "Learn A Lesson."
What began as a group of friends attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington and sharing a bond through their Fiji fraternity has evolved into one of the Southeast's most exciting young touring acts. With "Into the Light," the band continues to build momentum while showcasing the musicianship, camaraderie, and authenticity that define both their recordings and live performances.
