Youth Performers: Blue Dyes
Blue Dyes is a local band crafted from the Madison Music Foundry. The Madison Music Fondry is a program that provides a professional yet comfortable atmosphere for musicians to learn, rehearse and record music. Their facility includes 17 studios where aspiring musicians have the opportunity hold band rehearsals, take lessons, take classes and participate in workshops.

White Shoes is a Texas based band whose front man, Gerry Burns, describes their sound as “elusive jazz” because of its ability to capture and display the noises we heard in nature. Joining the five o’clock lineup includes local band, The Jimmys. The multi award-winning group, The Jimmys, have been growing a fan base in the in the city with the help of their jazz sound that also blends blues, soul, funk, and R&B.
Gerry Burns at one time was a member of the Madison cover band, Chunky Pie, that was very popular in the '70s. He was also a member of Madcity Rangers and Horsefeathers before moving to the Austin, Texas, area. During his early days in Texas, Gerry was a member of the touring bands for Hal Ketchum, Junior Brown and Gary P. Nunn. He has his own band that plays bluegrass, pop, country as well as a Grateful Dead cover band known as Gerry's Kids.
