Harvest for Your Health
press release: NuGenesis will host the 5th annual Harvest For Your Health farm-to-table event at its Oconomowoc location on Sunday, August 23, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join in a celebration of food and its potential to help prevent chronic illness and promote general wellness.
Bring the whole family to enjoy area chefs, doctors, and farmers pairing up to serve a wide array of gourmet pizzas and other delicious nutrient-dense dishes. Enjoy the live band, children's activities, silent auction and cash bar. Representatives from each of the five NuGenesis Initiatives will be available to highlight recent and forthcoming programs. It will be a relaxing afternoon as friends and family enjoy sumptuous food and even better health.
Chefs from popular area restaurants and organizations such as La Merenda, Lake Park Bistro, Amilinda, Andrew’s, Sustainable|Kitchens, Your Organic Cooking Coach, Down to Earth Chef and WCTC will be preparing food at the event. Area doctors will serve as honorary sous-chefs, including NuGenesis board members Dr. Rich Hansen and Dr. Kay Klaas, and physicians from ProHealth Care, Aurora Health Care, Wheaton Franciscan Health Care and area free clinics.
Local food producers hailing from Turnstone Farm, Turtle Creek Gardens, Victory Gardens, Morning Star Farm and Sitka Salmon will also serve as honorary sous-chefs, and will be available to share information on how to integrate sustainable agriculture into your garden.
Tickets for Harvest For Your Health are $75 for adults, $5 for children under 12 years old, or $100 for a family pass, good for up to two adults and three children. To make reservations visit www.NuGenesisFarm.org.
