Haunted Basement
Hop Garden Brewing & Tap Room, Evansville 18 E. Main St., Evansville, Wisconsin 53536
media release: Something spooky is returning to downtown Evansville this October.
For the fourth consecutive year, Hop Garden Brewing & Tap Room – Evansville will open the doors to its Haunted Basement, offering patrons a chance to get into the Halloween spirit while supporting a local organization that helps keep live music thriving in the community.
The Hop Garden Evansville Haunted Basement will take place Fridays and Saturdays beginning October 9 through Halloween, from 6–9 p.m., at 18 E. Main Street in Evansville. A $5 suggested donation is requested, with all proceeds benefiting Evansville Underground Music (EUM).
“This is something we look forward to every year,” said Hop Garden owner Rich Joseph. “We wanted to create something fun and a little different for the adults who come to Hop Garden, while also finding a way to give back to an organization that does so much for Evansville.”
The Haunted Basement is designed specifically for Hop Garden patrons. Guests can make a whole evening of it—Hop Garden is a smokehouse restaurant, so come hungry and enjoy dinner before heading downstairs. Guests can also enjoy live music every Friday and Saturday, making it easy to grab a drink, listen to the band, and then head down to see what’s waiting in the dark.
Grab a drink, settle in with friends, enjoy some music and food, and then—if you’re feeling brave—make your way into the Haunted Basement.
And while Halloween is at the heart of the event, giving back to the communities surrounding Hop Garden’s tap rooms is nothing new.
Hop Garden Brewing regularly looks for creative ways to raise money and support local organizations in the communities where its tap rooms are located and beyond. Over the years, those efforts have included chili cook-offs, soup competitions, bingo, meat raffles and other community fundraising events.
“We believe being a local business means being part of the community,” Joseph said. “Sometimes that means serving a great beer, sometimes it means providing a place for people to gather, and sometimes it means finding a fun way to raise money for organizations doing great work.”
For the Haunted Basement, Hop Garden is teaming up with EUM, a local nonprofit dedicated to bringing live music and touring artists to Evansville. Donations from the event will help EUM continue its work of bringing incredible artists from across the country to Evansville.
Come for the beer. Stay for the screams. Raise some money for EUM.
