History Sandwiched In
Wisconsin Historical Museum 30 N. Carroll St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
press release: When longtime author Robert Root moved to a small town in southeast Wisconsin, he got to know his new home by walking the same terrain traveled by three Wisconsin luminaries who were deeply rooted in place -- John Muir, Aldo Leopold, and August Derleth. Join Root as he shares his experiences walking with Muir at John Muir State Natural Area, with Leopold at the Shack, and with Derleth in Sac Prairie. Drawing from his new Society Press book “Walking Home Ground: In the Footsteps of Muir, Leopold, and Derleth,” Root will inspire attendees to see history's echo all around them, from the parking lot that once was forest to the city that once was glacier.
Cost: Suggested donation of $3/person
