SOLD OUT: IceBreaker
media release: This Thursday, April 9, more than 850 business and community leaders will attend the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce’s sold-out IceBreaker at the Kohl Center. Presented by TruStage, IceBreaker is one of the region's premier business gatherings — a place where conversations that will shape Greater Madison’s future start.
The event will feature speakers from the worlds of arts, sports and business to share stories relating to the concept “Set in Motion”:
Omari ‘Motion’ Carter — an internationally renowned screendance pioneer and University of Wisconsin–Madison professor who researches innovative dance practices — will discuss how to move through life with intention and creativity.
Laila Edwards — 2026 Olympic gold medalist, 2025 world champion and three-time NCAA champion Badger hockey player — will explore the relationship between motion and balance.
Nelly Kennedy — an executive consultant and co-CEO of Mākia Consulting who who previously held C-suite and senior leadership positions at Volkswagen, Google and Condé Nast — will separate motion from commotion.
This year’s program will also include the release of the Chamber’s 2026–2028 Advocacy Agenda which will guide the organization’s advocacy work for the next three years.
"The developments that will shape Greater Madison’s future have already been set in motion,” said Chamber President Zach Brandon. “We know the challenges of regions that failed to make the right investments at the right time. At this year’s IceBreaker, we will explore how the moves we make today can set our region up for success now and for decades to come.”
