press release: Ingrid Neuhofer Dohm is an award winning artist residing and working in Rockford, IL. Although originally born and raised in Austria, where she was surrounded by the majesty and beauty of nature, Ingrid’s painting career did not manifest itself until she moved to the United States and married. Well known for her signature floral still lifes, her body of work spans an impressive array of subjects: landscapes, street scenes, and portraits, to name a few. The tie that binds this diverse body of work together is the consistent beauty, the lush and vibrant use of color, and the controlled technique that result in the unique elegance of her original artwork.
Tina Duemler comes from St. Louis, Missouri but currently lives and works out of her rural Wisconsin studio as well as teaching art at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville. Duemler earned her undergraduate art degree and Master of Fine Arts degree from University of Wisconsin - Madison, studying with professors Carol Pylant and David Becker. Since graduation, she has also studied with artists Scott Christensen, Matt Smith, Skip Whitcomb, Daniel Gerhartz and Carolyn Anderson. Often, Duemler prefers to work from direct observation, also known as plein air painting, allowing her to better express the feeling of light, colors and shadows - the feeling of the place. When not teaching, Duemler travels throughout the United States, creating studies of the places she visits. These later provide her with a foundation for larger paintings.
