Marcos Colón is a dissertator in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and a Graduate Student Associate of the Center for Culture, History, and Environment (CHE) of UW-Madison's Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. His research focuses on the representation of the Amazon in 20th-Century Brazilian literature from an environmental studies perspective.
Erik Jennings is a Neurosurgeon based in Santarém, Pará, where he practices at the Regional hospital. For more than 15 years he has directed a clinic in the recently contacted Zo'é community where he provides for their medical needs. His surgical skill has been the subject of a Discovery Channel documentary.
