Jean Dawson
The range of musical styles and emotional territory explored across the discography of Jean Dawson makes every project land like a greatest hits album. That’s again true of Dawson’s most recent album, Glimmer of God, which bounces from glossy straight ahead pop to chamber music-tinged meditations to collaborations with Lil Yachty and Bones. Dawson is on the Miracle Mile Tour, accompanied by his college roommate Lecx Stacy, and the Madison stop at the Majestic is one of the few stops on the tour not in an arena-sized venue.
media release: Jean Dawson is a genre-defying artist, singer, and songwriter celebrated for his innovative fusion of hip-hop, punk, and experimental pop. Born in Tijuana, Mexico, and raised in San Diego, California, Dawson’s multicultural upbringing deeply influences his eclectic musical style, blending raw energy with introspective storytelling.
Dawson first garnered attention with his 2019 project Bad Sports, which highlighted his unconventional sound and DIY ethos. His 2020 debut album, Pixel Bath, further established his unique position in the alternative music scene, seamlessly integrating distorted guitars, electronic elements, and hip-hop beats. In 2022, he released CHAOS NOW, pushing creative boundaries with high-energy, genre-blending tracks that explored themes of self-discovery and rebellion.
In October 2024, Dawson unveiled his fourth studio album, Glimmer of God. This project showcases his continued evolution as an artist, offering a kaleidoscopic blend of electronic music and alternative rock. The album features collaborations with artists like Lil Yachty on the lead single “Die for Me” . Critics have praised Glimmer of God for its innovative sound and cohesive artistry. Clash Magazine described it as “a virtuosic display of chaotically brilliant songwriting innovation,” while Our Generation Music highlighted it as “the epitome of Dawson’s all-encompassing musical arsenal.”
