press release: You're invited to join us in SOSONIC's beautiful rehearsal suite for a night of stellar music from regional to local artists!

Held every third Thursday of every month, The Listening Room aims to bring you a one-of-a-kind, up-close, intimate music listening Experience in a fun, relaxed setting.

December's Artists....

Kerosene Kites............ When two of Madison, Wisconsin's most prolific and driven songwriters combine forces, anything can happen. After years of co-writing sessions, festival planning, and overall "big idea" cultivating, Beth Kille (of the Beth Kille Band and Gin,Chocolate & Bottle Rockets) and Erik Kjelland (of The Mascot Theory) perform as a duo under the pseudonym "Kerosene Kites." Since these highly decorated writers, and co-founders of Flannel Fest, began co-writing in the fall of 2013 they've released 3 albums, most recently their ambitious full-length Americana-Folk-Rock record, "Float Away" (November of 2017). Fans male-female fronted acts such as Civil Wars and Lady Antebellum will dig the Kerosene Kites' style.

Karen Wheelock..........Madison’s 2018 Alternative Performer of the Year Karen Wheelock burst into the local folk and americana scene in 2013, armed with a guitar and a ukulele. Romantic at its core, Wheelock’s music has a sound all its own, but one could draw connections to A Fine Frenzy, Lisa Loeb, Cat Power with just a hint of the Moldy Peaches' spirit.

The evening starts at 6:15 PM with our SOSONIC "Social Hour" where you have a chance to meet & mingle with the Featured Artists as well as the guests attending the event.

As always, the evening will be hosted by everyone's favorite local MC, Cooper Talbot!

This months "special guest" will feature "Abby Spencer"
