media release: Iconic dance music singer and instrumentalist Kiesza teases her upcoming project with a new single, “So Erotic” ft. Peaches out July 11. The new single along with the recent “Stays In Bed” produced by Sammy Virji and Jess Cake, will appear on Dancing and Crying: Vol. 2–a sexy, intimate exploration of female driven house music set for release on July 25. Equal parts infectious and unapologetic, “So Erotic” is a sexy explosion of the best of Kiesza and Peaches–a propulsive, gritty, high-energy banger that honors even the deepest of one’s intimate sexual desires.
“Peaches is a legend!” says Kiesza. “I slid into her DMs not knowing if she would see it or respond. She lives in Berlin but happened to be in Toronto where I was recording the volume with Jess Cake, Sugar Jesus and Bobby Love at my house. She came by and laid down her verse. She is truly a badass icon. The track is super juicy and heavy and very dirty. The bass feels like a dungeon.”
In support of her new music look for Kiesza to return to the road this summer as she extends her Dancing and Crying tour with Bonnie McKee. Shows are set for Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis and more. She’ll also return to Los Angeles for a headlining show at the El Rey Theatre on September 27.
Kiesza stormed onto the scene in 2014 with her impassioned hit “Hideaway”, which has accrued over a billion streams; the accompanying one-shot video featured on several best-of-decade lists. Her debut studio album Sound Of A Woman saw her top charts globally and moved over a million units. With subsequent top-tier collaborations like Jack Ü, deadmau5 and Francis Mercier, Kiesza has managed to transition into independence with a strong and unique profile in spite of a two year hiatus forced by a car-crash. Her most recent album Dancing and Crying: Vol.1 leveraged the single ‘I Go Dance” which reached #1 on the US Dance Airplay Chart summer of 2024 and this year, Kiesza continues pushing her vision of dance music into the world full steam ahead with Dancing and Crying: Vol. 2. This era of sexy, intimate exploration of female driven house music, kicks off with “Stays In Bed”. A club focused track produced by UK breakout DJ/Producer Sammy Virji and rising producer artist Jess Cake. Crafted in Kiesza’s home studio in Toronto, “Stays In Bed” raises the pulse and drives the bedroom energy to the decks and dancefloors.
Bonnie McKee is joining dance icon Kiesza (creator of mega-smash “Hideaway”) for a show at High Noon Saloon in Madison on Aug. 13.
You may know Bonnie from her 2014 banger “American Girl,” but she’s also written 10 #1 hits, including “Roar,” “Teenage Dream,” and “California Gurls” by Katy Perry, “Hold It Against Me” by Britney Spears, and “Dynamite” by Taio Cruz, plus cuts with Cher, Christina Aguilera, Ke$ha, and more.
Last year, she released her (literally) decade in the making album, Hot City, to critical praise from Rolling Stone, Variety, NYLON, PAPER, People, EUPHORIA, and more. Years after the record was shelved by her former record label in 2015, Bonnie found a 500-page long blog thread talking about it and decided to re-record it à la Taylor Swift.
