Kim/Kielson Duo (KKD) combines the talents of longtime friends and musicians, Kangwon Lee Kim (violin) and Lisette Kielson (recorder). The duo’s distinctive pairing beautifully highlights the timbres of the two instruments, wonderfully suited to the vast repertoire of the 14th to the 21st century. KKD’s programs span the intricate counterpoint of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, through the virtuosic rhetorical drama of the Baroque, to the adventurous explorations of newer music. Both Kangwon and Lisette are avid teachers and performers, having appeared independently at festivals and concert series throughout the world. Based in Madison, WI and Central IL, respectively, Kangwon and Lisette are thrilled to reconnect as the Kim/Kielson Duo and are excited to share their new program “Canons, Chaconnes, and Chocolate!”
CDs will be on sale at the concert.
