Friends of YSP —
Starting July 20, YSP will present six performances of King Richard II — done by wonderful young casts!!
There simply is no more beautiful and lyrical language written anywhere, by anyone — even by Shakespeare himself! — than the words in King Richard II. And now, once again, YSP will create this timeless masterpiece — the heart-breaking and incredibly inspiring story of a bad king who becomes a great and heroic victim.
As Richard himself says, mid-play: "We are amazed!"
We are amazed at the dedication, hard work, and understanding these young Players are bringing to this glorious work! We think you will be amazed as well!
ALL performances of Richard II, both weekends, are on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — tomorrow, July 20 and Friday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, July 21 and 28 at 6:00 p.m.; and Sunday, July 22 and 29 at 1:00 p.m.
As always, performances are FREE, and young people are welcome to attend. And, as always, performances are at the YSP Playhouse, 1806 West Lawn Avenue — near the corner of Monroe and Spooner Streets, right behind the Trader Joe's building.
Join us — more than once — for this glorious work!!
