press release: Michael W. Twitty is coming to Madison! Michael is a recognized culinary historian, community scholar, and living history interpreter focusing on historic African American food and folk culture as well as a seasoned Jewish educator with a specific interest in Jewish folk culture and its links to food.

Wednesday, April 13 at Temple Beth El, 2207 Arbor Drive:
5:30pm Family Education program (appropriate for kids in elementary school and their caregiver).

7:30pm Kosher Soul Talk- no registration required but if you are bringing a group larger than 20 please contact Ellen Weismer, program@jewishmadison.org
Thursday, April 14: Kosher Soul cooking demonstration with Michael Twitty at 10:30am in the community area at Meadowridge Library, 5726 Raymond Road.
Optional lunch will be served at 12 noon. Menu includes roasted chicken, wild rice pilaf, Key Largo vegetables, dinner roll, apple turnover and milk or juice. Vegetarian option is egg salad. Please specify vegetarian option when ordering your meal.

To reserve a meal through the West Madison Senior Center please, call 238-0196 before noon Wednesday, 4/13. The cost of the meal is a donation for anyone 60 and older. Suggested donation is $4.00. Please pay what you can afford. Meal cost for anyone under 60 is $7.50. Bus transportation is available for a $1.00 donation from the Westside service area. Pickup will start at 9:30 am. Bus riders are required to stay for lunch. If you want to ride the bus, please make your reservation by 4/8.
