Kris Lager Band
The song title “Ministers of the New New Feel Good Funk” (on their 2019 album, Spectrum) is a good description of what the Nebraska-based Kris Lager Band is up to musically. The group mixes blues and rock with a positive message and Lager's soulful vocal style. This Music Makes a Difference concert is free (it's a buck to reserve a ticket online, which will be returned at the door). With an opening set by Wisconsin singer-songwriter Sam Ness.
media release: Music Makes a Difference is excited to announce our first show of 2022 and, best of all, the show will be FREE to the public!! That's right, FREE!! Our mission hasn't changed. We're still the local non-profit that supports musicians with paid gigs in local venues and also supporting charities in our community. We're just going to cover the expense of hosting the show through our generous donors. We believe that hosting free shows will bring out more fans to enjoy their favorite artists. It's a lot more fun for the bands to play to a full house so let's fill up The Bur Oak!
In order to manage headcount we will require attendees to pre-register for the show. There will be a $1 registration fee, click here.
You will be given a crisp new dollar back when you check in at the event. If you end up not attending we'll gladly accept your dollar to support our Mission :-)
We are pleased that the Kris Lager Band will be our headliner for our first FREE show on March 31st. KLB has rocked Atwood Fest for several years and we're excited to have them back. Opening the night will be Wisconsin's own Sam Ness. Sam just won the 2021 Madison Area Music Award - Male Vocalist of the Year. It will be a great night of music. Pre-register so you don't miss it!
