It’s personal and professional redemption for the Scottish singer-songwriter, who’s back to top-pop form after overcoming a rough patch (divorce, death in the family) that nearly derailed her career. It’s a nice story to pair with opener Mayaeni, a Detroit-born R&B songstress who worked her way up the ladder by way of London and New York. If you’ve ever shaken ass in a dance club, you’ll have heard her on “Nothing Inside,” her 2012 collaboration with DJ Sander Van Doom. Her latest EP, Elocution, puts her soulful voice front and center. And man, is that a good and beautiful thing.
