(past Isthmus pick) Lakewaves, a project featuring the compositions of keyboardist Graham Marlowe, can be encountered as a solo concert or as the Lakewaves Trio, with Marlowe joined by bassist Mason Aumanstal (Dogtown Hollow, Sortin' the Mail) and drummer Will Bailey (Maestranza, CoMingle). In either incarnation expect impressionistic jams adjacent to jazz and rock, both composed and improvised, which in the trio form have much added groove due to the rhythm section’s presence. Be prepared to dance and maybe laugh if they announce their equally impressionistic yet humorous song titles.
media release: On March 13 from 6-9pm, Lakewaves Trio will be conducting a multi-hour, double-set Vibe Audit of downtown Madison's Up North Bar, to ensure this cozy little venue is equipped to handle the powerhouse effect of these live electric space jazz fusioneers in the future.

The band will be gathering data at both Madison and Milwaukee venues this spring, looking for any Waste Fraud & Abuse that might impede their ongoing music-industry-takeover ambitions - something keyboardist Graham Marlowe a.k.a. Lakewaves jokingly refers to as "an ambient funk venture capitalist project" meant for adventurous music listeners in search of a new adventure altogether.
They're in town to promote their new full length release**, perform some tasty unreleased material and weave together an "anthemic, transcendental, 'light-blue-collared' medley spun from Greatest-Hits yarn" that draws on all sides of their first three, critically-acclaimed albums.
Opening act Josh Klemons (Flannel & Rust) will perform an array of both colorfully reinterpreted covers and neo-retro originals that evoke a modern frontier.
