Lindberg Elementary School Mural Dedication

press release: Join us in celebrating a new exterior mural by Lindberg Elementary School & SAIL East (Student Achievement thru Individualized Learning) students & DAMA

This mural was created through a collaboration between DAMA lead artist Emida Roller, Lindberg K-5 students and East High School students who are in the SAIL program. SAIL is an alternative program whose mission is to expand the instructional opportunities for students who benefit from a non-traditional academic setting. The students at Lindberg, a small north side school, are one quarter Asian, one quarter Hispanic, one quarter African American and one quarter Caucasian.

As one student reported: “Painting murals can help students see things differently, can encourage creativity and help them express themselves. Painting murals is interesting and is an amazing opportunity.”
