Pricing is as follows: UW-Madison students are $10, Union Members and non-UW students are $44, $40 and $25, UW Faculty and Staff are $46, $42, and $25, and the general public are $48, $44, and $25. Over its 40 years, The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet has established one of the most diverse and formidable resumes of any musical group touring today. With 14 albums, a GRAMMY for Best Classical Crossover CD, and countless sold-out performances all over the globe, LAGQ has brought new life to all the genres they play.
From bluegrass and rock to Bach and Baroque, LAGQ serves to compose, arrange, and innovate any and all guitar music. They have collaborated with actor Philip Proctor in Don Quixote and Shingo Fuji for SHINKI: Seasons of Japan. Their original albums have received critical acclaim for their diversity and quality.
The West Australian dubbed LAGQ “The Best guitar quartet in the world.” According to Allmusic.com, their ability to “make any genre of music sound at home on the guitar” is both refreshing and impressive.
Students of Madison Music Makers will delight the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet audience by playing in Shannon Hall when the doors open at 7:30 pm on Saturday, April 22nd. Patrons are invited to come early and enjoy these talented young musicians.
The LAGQ concert starts at 8 pm and the program includes:
