Spend Valentine’s Day celebrating the love of Adam and Steve!
To mark Valentine’s Day and in celebration of all queer and cis-gender relationships, Kanopy presents Love is Love featuring “Adam & StEVE” by the late Juilliard trained, experimental choreographer, NYC’s Stanley Love-- a choreographer who helped shape New York’s downtown performance scene with large-scale, vibrant performances that he set to pop music.
Stanley Love was to be our guest star, and was excited about staging his joyful and poignant “Adam and StEVE”, for the first time since his Juilliard years. Now Kanopy, with the help of Stanley’s New York colleagues and friends, including NYC dancer and choreographer Ede Thurrell, Bessie award winner A. Apostol and gifted costume designer David Quinn, will orchestrate his works in a regional premiere to honor and recognize Love’s catalytic role in producing experimental dance.
Additional Stanley Love works on the program will be “Bonewash” and “The Love Number. Other romantic pieces in the concert are three works by guest star Ede Thurrell: “Living End I & II” and “Patsy”.
