Mackenzie Moore
Mackenzie Moore’s single release party is an artistic coming-out for the hard working Sauk City singer-songwriter, UW-Madison student, and Daily Cardinal correspondent. Most influenced by Sheryl Crow, Moore has also been influenced by Madison’s thriving folk-Americana scene where she’s been spotted watching and taking notes for some time. Some of those fellow artists are participating in this concert, including Candace Griffin (with Kat and the Hurricane), Jenna Joanis, Jake Johnson and Derek Ramnarace, and Gin, Chocolate & Bottle Rockets.

One of Mackenzie Moore’s first memories is singing along to Sheryl Crow’s “Soak Up the Sun” whenever it came on the radio in her mom’s car. A multi-award winning singer/songwriter, she is driven by the feeling of community that can be created in a room full of strangers with just the help of an acoustic guitar and a heartfelt voice.
With roots in rock, pop, Americana, and folk, she has been described as having a voice ‘as smooth and smoky as a good glass of scotch.’
Influences include: Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow, Lissie, Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, Foo Fighters, Jason Isbell, and Katy Perry
