Madisaurus
Silver Eagle Bar and Grill, Monona 5805 Monona Dr., Monona, Wisconsin 53716
press release: Taking place every first Saturday after Labor Day, the Madisaurus is an annual scavenger hunt / rally (and after-rally award regale) for motorcyclists and other vehicular operators in Madison. Make plans now to attend the very first Madisaurus Saturday, September 8, 2018.
FREE to join (although you do need to register) the rally portion of the Madisaurus runs from 8 am to 4 pm the day of the event. For $22 you can also join the after-rally dinner (the Regale) which starts at 6 pm. Participation in the Regale is optional, and you can still win the trophy if you only take part in the rally.
The Madisaurus comes in two main parts: First there is the Rally and then the Regale (the closing award ceremony and dinner). There is also a wholly optional "Breakfast Briefing" at the start of the event. You can participate in any, all, or only some of these aspects as you choose.
For the full schedule of the day's events:
- 8:00 a.m. - Morning briefing and breakfast at The Silver Eagle Bar & Grill.
- 8:00 a.m. - The Destination List is released.
- 8:00 a.m. - The Madisaurus Rally officially starts.
- 4:00 p.m. - The Madisaurus Rally officially ends.
- 6:00 p.m. - The Regale starts at Tully's II.
Is the Madisaurus a race? No. Scoring is just for fun and speeding is discouraged. The point of Madisaurus is not to go fast anyway, but rather enjoy some of the beautiful destinations and back roads around Madison, Wisconsin.
Does the Madisaurus support a local charity? It does indeed! From 8 am to 4 pm the day of the event you can bring a canned or other non-perishable food item to the Rally Station (at The Silver Eagle). After 6 pm you can bring your donations to the Regale. All such items shall then be delivered to the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
