press release: MahaRa from Chicago will be coming to Madison Friday and Saturday Oct 14th and 15th at SPACE yoga studio of Madison.
The first event is a Sound Healing Journey on Friday evening Oct 14th from 7pm to 8:30pm. This is a 90 min blissful performance that attendees just soak in. It will include a live chakra clearing and attunement, live performance of original music and even some spiritual poetry from the Western tradition. Bob is a master of the Native American flute guitar, didgeridoo and electronic music. Sven performs on over a dozen percussion instruments. Sven also specializes in reading choice poetry selections from Walt Whitman. You will literally get as cozy as possible. One may of course sit in a comfortable chair, or there is the option of laying on yoga mats or bolsters covered in blankets, eye pillows, etc). You can bring your own yoga mat and blanket if you wish but SPACE also has a number of blankets, mats, bolsters and eye pillows. The duo will lead a workshop for teachers, practitioners & healers on Saturday.
MahaRa (Pronounced Ma-Ha-Ra) is an alternative music group from Chicago that incorporates acoustic instrumentation, electronic sounds and world influences. Within their dynamic music, you will find acoustic guitar, Indian tabla, Native American flute, world percussion, Australian didgeridoo, and more. MahaRa was formed in 2008 and is a beautiful blend of work by Bob Macko (multi-instrumentalist / composer ) and Sven Hansen “Zen Sven” (Indian tabla / world percussion).
