Mark Croft Band, The Empty Pockets, Nate Jones
press release: The Mark Croft Band will be joined by renowned Madison musicians Chris Wagoner (violin) and Mary Gaines (cello), as they perform a lounge-style mix of original music and holiday tunes to celebrate the season. Band member and Madison Symphony Orchestra violinist Jon Vriesacker will lead the string ensemble with his arrangements of a sample of Croft’s tunes. After selling out for years in their hometown of Chicago, The Empty Pockets bring their acclaimed holiday show to Madison for the first time, performing a mix of original music and holiday favorites with a rock ’n roll spin and tight vocal harmonies. Special guest and Cleveland native Nate Jones will open the show.
Croft is fresh off of his Official Showcase Performance at the Folk Alliance Midwest Region conference in Iowa City, Iowa, in October, and a recent tour to Arizona. Croft is a 14-time Madison Area Music Award winner, including the 2014 “Folk/Americana Album of the Year” award for his latest CD, Live at Shake Rag Alley.
The Empty Pockets have toured extensively for years, sharing the bill will the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Jason Mraz and FUN. Their holiday single, “Baby It’s Cold Outside/Baby Please Come Home”, a spirited mash-up of two holiday classics, hit radio airplay on over a hundred markets nationwide.
The performance will be held at 6:30pm Sunday, December 13, at the Brink Lounge, 701 E. Washington Ave in Madison. Tickets are $20.00 in advance, or $25.00 day of show. The Brink Lounge will open early (3:00pm) for those wishing to watch the Packers game before the show. Advance tickets can be purchased through
