Middleton Nordic Center Grand Opening

media release: Just over a year after its groundbreaking, the Middleton Nordic Center will host a grand opening ceremony, Nov. 5, to celebrate the new building and kick off the cross-country ski season.

The grand opening will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, at the CXC Outdoor Center (4355 Schwartz Road, Middleton), with guided tours of the property. At 3:30 p.m., the presentations will begin with Dan and Natalie Erdman, who donated the land and created the vision for the community recreational space; Yuriy Gusev, Central Cross-Country Skiing (CXC) director; and Steve Cohan, the chairman of the CXC Skiing Foundation; Mayor Lisa Janairo; and Middleton City Administrator Bryan Gadow speaking. Attendees will be invited to remain and mingle as they explore the center until about 5:30 p.m.

The Middleton Nordic Center is the newest addition to this public-private partnership at the CXC Outdoor Center. It will contain a community multi-use room and board room — both rentable spaces; restrooms; a private performance physical therapy office; Nordic retail and rental shop; CXC Outdoor Center’s main office; and CXC Performance Training Gym. There will also be an outdoor area available for larger events.
